How can I avoid false alarms?

The pool unit can withstand winds up to approximately 15 MPH; stronger winds may cause false alarms. To reduce or avoid false alarms:

Position the pool unit away from pump outlets and skimmers.
Attach the pool unit to the pool side using the provided attachment kit.
Shorten the string to limit pool unit movement to less than 5 inches (12.5 cm).
Reduce the pool unit's sensitivity via the app.
Remove any floating objects or toys from the pool.
Use the "Do Not Disturb" (DND) mode to prevent false alarms during the night.
Adjust pump outlets downward to minimize waves caused by the pump. If this isn't feasible, schedule the pump to operate at night and use DND during that time.

How can I troubleshoot Wi-Fi connection issues?

1. Follow the app’s instructions for setting up Wi-Fi. Ensure all required app permissions are granted and verify the Wi-Fi password is correct.

2. The blue Wi-Fi LED should be on or blinking, indicating Wi-Fi is enabled. If it’s off, press the Wi-Fi button briefly to turn it on.

3. If the orange Wi-Fi icon is off, the system is connected, and the app can be used.

4. If the blue Wi-Fi LED is on/blinking and the orange Wi-Fi icon blinks for more than 3 minutes:

Ensure the Home Unit isn't too far from the router.
Turn off the Home Unit by pressing the PWR button for 3 seconds (a loud beep will be heard).
Disconnect the router and modem power cables.
Wait 30 seconds.
Reconnect the modem and router power cables.
Wait a few minutes until all router LEDs are stable and Wi-Fi internet is reachable.
Turn the Home Unit on by briefly pressing the PWR button.
Check if the blue Wi-Fi LED is on; if not, press the Wi-Fi button.
Wait for the orange Wi-Fi icon to stop blinking.

Does the BCone alarm come with a warranty?

What is the range of the system?

Pool unit can typically be 100′ from the home unit. Install the home unit on the nearest wall and avoid obstacles between both units to improve range.

When should I replace the battery?

What is the recommended pool size?

For optimal performance, BCone is recommended for pools up to 20’ x 40’. For larger pools, additional BCone units may be required.

Will it work with an automatic cleaner or water features?

Automatic cleaners and water features may interfere with BCone’s operation and could trigger false alarms. For best results, install the unit away from strong water movement and reduce sensitivity if needed. Performance may vary depending on conditions.

Will it work with a pool cover?

The BCone Pool Unit rises 4.5 inches (11.5 cm) above the water level when floating. If the pool cover is high enough above the water level, it can function properly. However, solar covers that float on the water are not supported.

Can the BCone work without Wi-Fi?

Yes, the system is fully functional without Wi-Fi. However, Wi-Fi is required to use the app. When the BCone Home Unit is connected to Wi-Fi, the BCone App can be used from anywhere to control the system and receive alerts.
